100 ways to learn

Since ongoing learning is of such great importance to all of us I set out to write a list of all of the ways I could think of to learn through life.  Turns out I came up with 100 ……

  1. Become a great listener
  2. Implement a new idea
  3. Subscribe to a journal or magazine
  4. Teach others
  5. Keep a notepad and pen in your pocket
  6. Ask more questions
  7. Learn a new word each day
  8. Join a public speaking group like toastmasters
  9. Slow down and breath
  10. Find a mentor 20 years older than you
  11. Go to a foreign movie
  12. Start your own business
  13. Listen to good podcasts like Freakonomics
  14. Write your own learning plan
  15. Write an article about something you know
  16. Notice and challenge your assumptions

Chances are you’re doing plenty of these things already.  Try giving a few of the others a go and see what happens.
